Congratulations! You've reached the final video of the Advanced Series. But remember, this is not the end! Yoga provides you with a lifetime of learning opportunities. When you're done here, go through the series again or find the studios in your own community and continue to learn and grow. Unti...
You've almost made it through the Advanced Series. Before you get going with today's practice, take a moment to remember that life is about balance. No one can be good or perfect ALL the time! Life, and yoga, are all about the balance of all facets of our existence!
Today's balance series is going to be a challenge. We're taking things from the floor to standing, and from standing to the floor. Remember, the value of repetition. Rarely are we good at something the first time we try it! Keep practicing, we know you can do it!
Today's practice focuses on planks and engaging your core. If you are feeling tight in the shoulders, you may want to grab a towel or a strap to give yourself a little extra space to work into the postures.
It's time for vinyasa part 2. Focus on meeting yourself where you are at. Being an advanced yoga practitioner means knowing when you can push yourself a little more and knowing when you don't have the energy to give. If you don't have it today, that's fine! Welcome to the first day of the Advanced Series! The Beginner and Intermediate Series really laid the foundation, now Advanced is here to push you. This won't be easy, but stay with the movements and listen to your body.
Today we are doing a triangle series. Focus on getting as low to the ground as you can, then squeezing everything in to center. You will feel these movements. Instead of running away from the sensation, focus your breath and stay in the movements. Are you ready?
Time for vinyasa #2. You're halfway through the series! Remember to do the best you can! Look for your progress in those little moments -- when you hold a breath longer, or find strength in a new variation. Everything you are doing is stemming from the strong foundation you've already built.
Today is your introduction to vinyasa flow. These poses may be more challenging than what you are used to but they will help you push your personal limits and warm you up for the rest of the Intermediate Series!
You've made it through the Beginner Series and now it's time to challenge yourself a little more. Today we revisit the core. Because the core is the center of your practice, it's essential to begin here, check in, and build awareness in these muscles.
The first half of today's floor series focuses on using your whole body, front and back, to support the postures, putting everything you have into them. The second half, we want you to focus on softening into the posture, letting go and releasing into it.
Sun Salutation A's and Sun Salutation B's is where we focus today. These poses are the "bread and butter," or base, of a vinyasa practice. Give as much as you can, hold the poses for as long as you can, and you'll be able to feel your progress!
