Hi Marvelvie, we do not offer custom recommendations for calorie intake. There is a more robust formula for calculating your own idea calorie intake here, in our Meal Plan bundle: http://go.bodyrock.tv/qio0
However, 1500 is intended to be the average. If you are a large, muscular person, that will be too low, even if you are trying to lose weight. Considering that most people eat between 2100 and 2500 calories a day in North America, cutting down to 1500 for an average or small/short person does make sense.
It's way more important that you are eating clean and getting all the macros you need to get (protein, fiber, carbs and fats) rather than counting calories. We usually simply suggest you reduce your portions rather than become a numbers junkie!!
